Mufflers, mufflers should be your first purchase if you think the factory exhaust note is too muffled. I remember a new S550 GT going to a car show and there was a small official competition for exhaust note. The S550 sounded so quiet compared to a S197.2 GT with a set of long tube headers and Ford Racing exhaust that sounded pitch-perfect.

IMO, get an exhaust that’s noticeable but not too loud. Basically, make sure the bark matches the bite or else you’re the American-equivalent of a Honda ricer with a gutted muffler.

I had a SOLO Performance on my Genesis Coupe and loved it. Deep with an exotic note at high revs and no drone on the freeway. I was looking at their Street XV exhaust for the mustang, but it may be too loud.
